Principal’s Desk

Dear Stakeholders,

I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the College family. The C.E.S College of Arts and Commerce is a well-known institution of higher education and I feel privileged to be associated with it since last three years.

The College is affiliated to Goa University and offers Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) at Undergraduate Programmes in Arts (B.A. General) and Commerce (B. Com. Honours). During the academic year 2020-21, the total enrolment reached to 571 students that included 347 in B.A. and 314 in B. Com.

It is rightly said that education is a continuous process that undergoes constant change. This is evident from the fact that implementation of the New Education Policy 2020, is in progress in India. This New policy aims to overhaul education with an emphasis on the development of the creative potential of each student, in its cognitive, social, ethical, emotional capacities and dispositions. I am proud to say the mission and vision statements of our institution reflect the ethos of this policy.

It is the endeavour of our institution to identify, inspire and empower students to be productive members of a competitive and ever-changing global society. Our well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty is very adaptive to the academic needs of our students. We believe in the all-round development of our students. Therefore, equal thrust is laid on academics, sports, research and other curricular and co-curricular activities.

The success of an institution can be best assessed in terms of the proactive role played by its stakeholders in its march towards achieving academic excellence. In this regard we are grateful to our   students, parents, members of the management, alumni, benefactors and the community who are very supportive. We are proud of all of them.

As the pandemic forced educational institutions to become more adaptive, our teachers made sincere and concerted efforts in upgrading themselves with methods of teaching, providing our students with new accessible platforms to suit the educational needs thus making the online teaching-learning process more vibrant.

The institution has adequate infrastructure and facilities for students.  Our Library is well equipped with text books, reference books, periodicals, national and international journals and e-resources. The library is open for students and all stakeholders from 7.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Plans are afoot to make academia-industry linkage more vibrant, so that the disparity between education and workplace requirements is reduced. We desire to see graduates walk out from the portal of this institution gain employment without facing any difficulty.

Join the C.E.S family to make your dream come true. I wish you a very happy and an academically enriching sojourn at C.E.S. College.
